APPARATUS
 
 

Engine Company:A primary response company. Each Engine Company (aka: Pumper) is staffed by 3 (or 4) persons. Officer (Capt or Lt), Driver/Engineer, and a Firefighter (aka: Tailboard). Engine Companies assigned to to fire districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10. It is staffed and equipped in a manner to deliver fire, ems, and rescue services as needed.
 
 

Truck Company: A specialized and often an additional responding apparatus, it can function as an Engine Company (aka: Quint) when necessary. Each Truck Company is staffed with 3 (or 4) persons: Officer (Captain), Driver/Engineer, and a Firefighter (Tailboard or Truckie). There are currently Truck Companies assigned to Station 1, 4, 5, 7 & 11.
T4, T5, T7 & T11  have 75' ladders while T1 is a 100' ladder/platform.
 
 

Ambulance: A Primary and specialized response unit. The medical units are ALS (advanced life support) equipped. The units  carry a full array of life saving equipment and therapies such as cardiac drugs, heart monitors, oxygen and radios to talk directly to Biotel (GFD Medical Control). The unit is staffed with a Driver/Engineer Paramedic and a Firefighter/Paramedic. There are currently 9 Medic units (Ambulance 1-9).
 
 





Rescue: A specialized unit. This piece of equipment is staffed with 4 personnel (Captain, Driver-Engineer, 2 firefighters - 2 of the 4 will be Paramedics). All rescue personnel have been trained in a variety of rescue courses (High Angle, Swift Water, Below Grade, Rescue Systems I & II). When Rescue 8 goes into serice E-8 is placed out of service.
